Laura Linney's performance of weak, yet strong characters has made her one of the top American actors. Linney was born to an unmarried mother, who worked as a nurse. Linney became interested in theatre during the time spent in the summer by her famous father. Her studies in acting were through Brown University, and later at Juilliard School.
