Beautiful pics of Tamara Day and Sarah Stiles feet & legs
I spent months working 12 hour days sanding floors and tearing down wallpaper with one child strapped on my back while the other babies were climbing in the playpen. Ha! The whole thing started to make sense, but wasn't quite completed. For this project I had planned to shell out a substantial amount of money and time searching for the perfect home. In order to stay within my budget, I took my boys with me to look for treasures in estate sales. We would go from between Thursday and Saturday in estate sales and garage sales buying brand new furniture. After that, I stenciled and polished the driveway in the week. The furniture I found looked similar to... This is when my desire to repair furniture started. I continued to work on furniture, even after having furnished our house. I also had a booth at the market to sell objects. I could outgrow the market because I had plenty of pieces that I was able to use. My house was transformed into a space where I would host open houses where up to 1000 visitors could see items from my first floor and purchase the items. Growing Days is the result of this. While my company grew as did our family. It was like I found the ideal equilibrium between motherhood as well as starting my own venture. Growing Days seemed like the perfect combination. The year 2013 was the year my daughter Nora became our fourth daughter. While I was pleased with the direction that my business was taking, I realized that I had to take a little break. I took a break from vintage furniture to spend the time I needed with my children. In the beginning, this was what I wanted. But after a short time the phone started ringing. Calls came in asking me to help them with interior decor and home renovations. A majority of these were the ones who had strolled through my house during furniture open houses! It wasn't long before I was managing a full-scale home renovation company. It began with taking clients at a pace that I felt at ease with. There is a good chance that I would have been laughing if somebody had informed me that my venture was going to be part of a forthcoming television show that airs on the DIY Network. It's hilarious to look back about it.
