Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou was born in Beaumont in the French city of Puy-de Domme on the 9th of August, 1976. She was the oldest of four children. Her parents were dentists as well as a teacher recognized and supported her love of theater and acting from a young age which was more important than a desire to become a primatologist due to her love of monkeys. The rise of her as a young actress was quick and accompanied by her early successes. After completing her masters degree, she was asked to take part in Jeunes Premiers, an French show on TV that is a talent scouting initiative, which is sponsored by Canal+. She also was awarded the top Young Actress prize at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. This led her to pursue a career in acting professionally. Tautou studied at the Institut Catholique de Paris, in addition to attending church as she was a child. She has since moved away from her religious background. She claims that she's not an official Catholic. She has pursued a modeling career along with her acting career. She is the model for L'Oreal Mont Blanc and Chanel frequently referred to as the Chanel Muse. Also, she has an intense love of photography. Recently, she created an exhibit of her work at the Arles Festival, titled Superficial. Photography of her is primarily focused on fame and celebrity and is focused towards the reporters who sat on her during her success as Amelie in addition to self-portraits. Audrey Tautou became a star and became famous internationally with her role debut as Amelie Poulain in the film Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie. Amelie is a huge global box-office hit and was recognized by numerous ceremony awards around the world. It is the most successful French language film in the US. Following this massive success, Tautou was later cast in many films which included British dramas, like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Un long dimanche de fiancailles. Also, she starred with Tom Hanks in Ron Howard's The Da Vinci Code directed by Dan Brown.
