Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej Now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to score a of 10 for an Olympic contest. Bela Karalyi came across Comaneci at age six. Comaneci would go on to become Romania's gymnastics instructor. In 1969, she took part in the Romanian Junior Championships where she placed 13th. She was awarded the championship in 1970. In 1972, at an event for communist-controlled countries' juniors before the Olympics, she was awarded three medals of gold. Then in 1973 and 1974 she became the overall junior champion. She took home four gold medals and one silver medals in her senior debut international competition, held in 1975. This was the first time that she competed as a senior. She took home the American Cup in New York City in 1976 and became the first woman to perform an backward double salto to perform an unmounting from barres that are not parallel. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her path into the entertainment industry began during her teens when she started doing figure skating along with her sibling Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show named Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne is a United States citizen, born on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. Carol began her professional career as an entertainer during her teenage years. Her first job was as a figure skater performing with her younger sibling Nina Wayne as part of the traveling entertainment shows known as Ice Capades. They had ice-skating performances that included theatre performances.
